About CUCET-2020

Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) is conducted for admission to various Integrated/Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research Programmes offered by Central Universities of Haryana, Jharkhand, Jammu, Karnataka, Kashmir, Kerala, Punjab, Rajasthan, South Bihar and Tamil Nadu along with Bengaluru Dr B.R. Ambedkar School of Economics.
The entrance exam, CUCET 2019 is jointly conducted by these 10 Universities. The consortium of 10 Central Universities was established by the Act of Parliament and Dr B.R. Ambedkar School of Economics registered under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act of 1960. Candidates who will be appearing for CUCET 2019 must refer and meet the eligibility criteria of each participating University for the programme they are applying for.

Eligibility

Graduation must be fully passed i.e All Semesters All Papers. However Apearing/Reappered Students may also give Entrance Test but at the time of Admission Form (July-2019), their Graduation must be passed in all semesters.

M.A. Economics:- Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) from a recognized University with not less than 50% of total marks (45% in case of SC/ST and persons with disabilities) with Economics as one of the subject
M.Tech (Computer Science & Technology):- B.Tech. / B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering / Information Technology or M.C.A or M.Sc (Computer Science/IT). In addition, candidates of General & OBC category must have secured atleast 60% marks at the qualifying degree level; but for SC/ST/PwD category candidates, this percentage is 55%. GATE qualified candidates may be preferred
M.Sc. Environmental Sciences :- Bachelor’s Degree of at least three years duration in Science stream from a recognized University with not less than 50% of total marks (45% in case of SC/ST and person with disabilities)
M.A./M.Sc. Mathematics :- Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) from a recognized University with not less than 50% of total marks (45% in case of SC/ST and persons with disabilities) with Mathematics/Applied Mathematics as one of the subjects.
M.B.A. Tourism and Travel Management :- Bachelor’s Degree of at least three years duration from a recognized University with not less than 50% of total marks (45% in case of SC/ST and persons with disabilities).
M.B.A. Human Resource Management :- Bachelor’s Degree of at least three years duration from a recognized University with not less than 50% of total marks (45% in case of SC/ST and persons with disabilities).
M.B.A. Marketing Management :- Bachelor’s Degree of at least three years duration from a recognized University with not less than 50% of total marks (45% in case of SC/ST and persons with disabilities)
M.A. English & Comparative Literature :- Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) from a recognized University with not less than 50% of total marks (45% in case of SC/ST and persons with disabilities). Preference will be given to the students with English Literature as one of the subjects
M.A. Public Policy and Public Administration :- Bachelor’s Degree of at least three years duration from a recognized University with not less than 50% of total marks (45% in case of SC/ST and persons with disabilities).
M.A. Social Work :- Bachelor’s Degree of at least three years duration from a recognized University with not less than 50% of total marks (45% in case of SC/ST and persons with disabilities).
M.A. Mass Communication and New Media :- Bachelor’s Degree of at least three years duration from a recognized University with not less than 50% of total marks (45% in case of SC/ST and persons with disabilities)
M.A. National Security Studies :- Bachelor’s Degree of at least three years duration from a recognized University with not less than 50% of total marks (45% in case of SC/ST and persons with disabilities).
M.Ed. (Master of Education) :- Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed./B.Ed. Special Education) from a recognized University with not less than 50% of total marks in Theory and Practice of teaching separately (45% in case of SC/ST and persons with disabilities)
M.A. Hindi :- Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) from a recognized University with not less than 50% of total marks (45% in case of SC/ST and persons with disabilities) with Hindi as one of the subjects
M.Sc. Material Sciences & Technology :- Bachelor’s Degree of at least three years duration in Science stream from a recognized University with Physics /or Chemistry as a subsidiary subject at the graduation level with not less than 50% of total marks (45% in case of SC/ST and person with disabilities)
M.B.A. :- Bachelor’s Degree of at least three years duration from a recognized University with not less than 50% of total marks (45% in case of SC/ST and persons with disabilities).
M. Sc. (Information Technology) :- Bachelors' degree (10+2+3 pattern) in any discipline or any other degree recognized equivalent thereto from a recognized University

Scheme of Exam

All Question Papers will be MCQ based consisting of: -

(i) Part A : English Language, general awareness, mathematical aptitude and analytical skills – comprising of 25 MCQs

(ii) Part B: Domain Knowledge – comprising of 75 MCQs. This part may consist of one/two/three or more sections. Each section can have 25 or more questions. A candidate is required to answer a set of ‘X’ sections (75 questions) as specified on the front cover of the Test Question Booklet. However, he/she must ensure that he/she fills right circles in the OMR Sheet corresponding to the question numbers attended.

(iii) For example, Part B of Entrance Test-Paper (eg. UGQP01) shall consist of four sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology comprising 25 questions each. A candidate shall be required to attempt any three sections with combination of either PCM or PCB. While choosing the combination the candidate must ensure that he/she has appeared in respective subjects at 10+2 or Pre-board or equivalent qualifying exam.

(iv) If an Entrance Test-paper contents X number of sections and a candidate is required to answer Y number of section but if a candidate attempt all ‘X’ sections then best of ‘X’ sections as per instructions on the question booklet will be considered for preparation of Merit list.

(v) Admission to some Integrated Programmes/B.Voc./MBA/MCA/LLB or any other general Programme, only one paper comprising of 100 MCQs covering English language, reasoning, data interpretations/ numerical ability, general awareness and analytical skills will be held.

(vi) The candidate will have to choose one correct answer and mark on OMR Sheet. However if a candidate marks multiple entries in the OMR Sheet for particular question(s), it will be treated as wrong answer with negative marking.

(vii) Each paper will be only of Two Hours Duration.

(viii) There will be negative marking in CUCET-2018. Each correct answer will carry 04 mark and for each wrong answer, 01 mark will be deducted. Questions not attempted will not be assessed and hence will not be considered for preparing final merit list


Exams Centers

Centre of Entrance Test: Cntral University Common Entrance Test shall be conducted in the centers to be constituted in Jammu, Kargil, Kathua, Leh, Srinagar, Udhampur, Anantnag, Baramulla, Doda, Ganderbal, Rajori, Samba, Reasi. The examination centre once allotted shall not be changed at the later stage.

After the Decleration of CUCET Entrance Result and 6th Sem Examination Result, Online Regstraton Form will be Filled, in Which Students Enters their Graduation total Marks.

List of selected candidates shall be displayed on the University Website and on the Notice-Boards of the Administrative Office and School/Department concerned. No intimation to the selected candidates will be sent by post.


The candidates shall be required to get their admissionscompleted by the dates as notified by the University from time to time and the candidates are advised to remain in touch with the University website www.cujammu.ac.in
-> The selected candidates shall be required to produce, for verification at the time of interview / last date prescribed for completion of the admission formalities, as the case may be, the following documents in original:
1. Certificates
2. Diplomas
3. Degrees
4. Marks- Sheets of all educational qualifications.
In case of an employee, No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer clearly mentioning that the employer has no objection in the candidate’s pursuing higher education in the Central University of Jammu on whole time basis.Such candidate will be considered for admission on production of a certificate from the employee that he/she has been granted leave for the prescribed period of study in the University.
In case of a gap between the qualifying examination and the year seeking admission in the University, the candidate shall be required to submit an undertaking indicating the reasons for such gap and the activities in which he/she was engagedduring the intervening period.
Only those candidates whose results of the qualifying examination is complete in all respects on the last date prescribed for submitting of the application form to the University will be considered for admission to a Programme of Study.
All the students admitted to Programmes to Study shall be required to submit their Migration Certificates in original within 30 days from the date of admission, failing which their admission in the University may be cancelled.
-> Degrees obtained through distance education mode and off- shore campus/study centre will be valid only if they are issued in accordance with regulations, guidelines and instructions issued by the Distance Education Council, UGC, AICTE& AIU.
